Question 1

How long does Bijuve take to start working?

Accepted Answer

Most women notice a reduction in hot flushes and night sweats within 2–4 weeks. Full therapeutic effect on vaginal symptoms and quality of sleep may take 3–6 months.

Question 2

Can Bijuve cause weight gain?

Accepted Answer

Weight gain is reported as a common side effect (affects less than 1 in 10). However, it is usually mild and often related to fluid retention; maintaining a healthy diet and exercise helps.

Question 3

Does Bijuve increase the risk of breast cancer?

Accepted Answer

Yes, combined HRT slightly increases breast cancer risk; the risk becomes apparent after 3 years of use. For women aged 50 using it for 5 years, there are an extra 4–8 cases per 1000 users compared to non‑users.

Question 4

What should I do if I miss a dose of Bijuve?

Accepted Answer

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If more than 12 hours have passed, skip the missed dose and take the next one at the usual time. Do not double the dose.

Question 5

Do I need contraception while taking Bijuve?

Accepted Answer

If it is less than 12 months since your last natural period or you are under 50, you may still be fertile. Use additional barrier contraception until your doctor confirms you are fully postmenopausal.
