Question 1

How long does Evorel take to work for hot flushes?

Accepted Answer

Many women notice an improvement in hot flushes and night sweats within 2 to 4 weeks of starting Evorel Conti. Full effect on symptoms is usually seen after 2–3 months of continuous use.

Question 2

Do I still need contraception while using Evorel Conti?

Accepted Answer

Evorel Conti is not a contraceptive. If it is less than 12 months since your last period or you are under 50, use non‑hormonal contraception (condom, diaphragm) until your doctor confirms you no longer ovulate.

Question 3

What should I do if I forget to change my patch on time?

Accepted Answer

Apply a new patch as soon as you remember, then continue with your original patch‑change days. You may experience spotting or breakthrough bleeding—this is common and usually settles.

Question 4

Can Evorel Conti cause weight gain?

Accepted Answer

Some women report fluid retention or mild weight gain when starting HRT, but this often stabilises after a few months. Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise helps manage any changes.

Question 5

Is Evorel Conti safe if I have a history of blood clots?

Accepted Answer

No. Evorel Conti should not be used if you have ever had a blood clot (DVT, pulmonary embolism) or have a known clotting disorder. Discuss your full medical history with your doctor before starting.
