Question 1

How soon after taking Novofem will I feel relief from hot flushes?

Accepted Answer

Many women notice a reduction in hot flushes within 2–4 weeks. Maximum improvement typically occurs after 8–12 weeks of continuous use. If you don't see any improvement after 3 months, speak to your doctor.

Question 2

How long does it take for Novofem to be completely out of my system?

Accepted Answer

Given a half‑life of 12–14 hours for estradiol and 8–12 hours for norethisterone, the drugs are effectively cleared after 3–4 days following the last tablet. Metabolites may linger but have negligible activity.

Question 3

When will I get my withdrawal bleed after finishing a pack?

Accepted Answer

The withdrawal bleed usually starts 2–3 days after you finish the 12 white tablets (combined phase) and typically occurs at the beginning of the next pack. If bleeding is absent or irregular, consult your doctor.

Question 4

Does Novofem work faster if I take it with food?

Accepted Answer

No, food does not significantly affect the absorption rate or peak concentration. You can take Novofem with or without food – consistency in timing is more important for maintaining steady hormone levels.

Question 5

How long before Novofem starts protecting my bones?

Accepted Answer

Bone protection begins as soon as oestrogen levels are restored, but measurable increases in bone mineral density typically take 12–24 months. Long‑term use is needed for fracture prevention benefit.
